Privacy Policy

Who we are: Aruba Tonight, Aruba.
Contact: contact@arubatonight.com
The short version
- You do not need an account to use Aruba Tonight.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Your saved venues and events stay on your own phone.
- Location and notifications are optional. The app works without them.
- If you send us a form (to add a venue or submit an event), we keep what you send so we can review it and contact you.
Information we collect
What you choose to give us
- Venue and event forms: your name, email address, phone number (optional), your role, and the details, photos and links you submit about a venue or event.
- Contact and promotion enquiries: your name, email, venue or organisation, and your message.
What stays on your phone
- Your saved venues and events, your rating of a venue, and simple settings (for example whether you have dismissed a banner). This stays on your device. When you rate a venue, a random anonymous ID is stored with each rating so one phone cannot rate the same venue many times. It is not linked to your name.
Location (optional)
- If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location only while the app is open to show how far a venue is. We do not store your location on our servers.
Notifications (optional)
- If you allow notifications, your phone gives us a notification token so we can send alerts you asked for. You can turn this off in your phone's settings at any time.
Anonymous usage counts
The app counts simple actions, for example that a venue page was opened or saved, or that Directions or Call was tapped, so venues and advertisers can see what is popular. These counts are not linked to your name, email address or phone number.
Technical information
- Like any app that loads pictures and maps from the internet, the services that deliver them (see section 4) can see your IP address and basic device information. We do not use this to identify you.
2b. This website
- This website has three forms: a launch sign-up (your email), a contact form, and an advertising quote form (your name, email, venue or organisation and message). We keep what you send so we can reply, in the same secure database as the app.
- We do not use cookies and we do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this website.
- The website loads its fonts from an outside font service, so that service can see your IP address when a page loads.
- If you leave your email for the launch sign-up, we use it only to tell you when the app is ready.
How we use information
- To show venues, events, the map and distances.
- To review venue and event submissions, publish them, and contact the person who sent them.
- To reply to your messages.
- To send notifications you have allowed.
- To keep the app secure and prevent abuse (for example, spam in forms).
We do not use your information for advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
Who else handles information
We use trusted services to run the app. They process information on our behalf:
- Hosting and database providers — to store venues, events, submitted forms and uploaded pictures. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
- Map providers — to draw the map.
- Image and font services — to load pictures, logos and fonts.
- App stores and app delivery services — to deliver and update the app.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to review them, run the listing, and keep our records, and then deleted or anonymised.
- Information stored only on your phone stays there until you delete it or remove the app.
Your choices and rights
- Deny location or notifications at any time; the app still works.
- Clear your saved places by clearing the app's data in your phone settings.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete anything you sent us through a form by emailing contact@arubatonight.com.
Security
We use access controls and encryption in transit to protect submitted information, and only authorised administrators can read submissions. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the forms.
Age
Aruba Tonight is about nightlife and is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept it.
